If you’ve been watching people play Moonlight Peaks, chances are, you’ve seen that your vampire self can transform at will. But as for actually unlocking those transformations? That’s the tricky part. Each of your alternate forms helps you get around town more easily, from swifter movement in Hellkitten form to unlocking new features on the map.
The transformation wheel that pops up when you hit the L button will eventually be home to the three different transformations available in Moonlight Peaks. The first one you’ll unlock is Hellkitten form. In our experience, the next easiest to get is Mermaid Form. Our team hasn’t yet uncovered exactly how to get Bat Form, but we’re working on it! If you want to know how to unlock Hellkitten Form and how to uncover all of the transformations in Moonlight Peaks, our guide is here to help.

How to Unlock Hellkitten Form

The first transformation you unlock will be Hellkitten / Cat Form. This form lets you move across the map much more quickly and chat with your farm animals. It is unlocked by completing the “The Dinner Party” story quest in Moonlight Peaks. This is a fairly early game quest that gets put into motion with a cutscene involving Brook and Orlock arguing about the Crests.
Once you complete the steps to host the dinner party, you will unlock Hellkitten Form through a magical mishap in the cutscene at Ambrosia Manor. After that, you will be able to transform into Hellkitten Form by hitting the left bumper, then selecting the Hellkitten portrait from the form wheel.

Once you do, you can move quickly, dig around in cat form, and chat with animals by interacting with them. This form also lets you sneak inside the cave where the Vampsters hang out, though it’s not yet clear if you can do anything once you’re inside.
How to Unlock Mermaid Form

The second transformation our team was able to unlock is Mermaid Form. This lets you swim in the water, diving into those tantalizing ripple spots and reaching previously inaccessible areas. It is unlocked by meeting the Mermaids and progressing through their story quests. That means you’ll need to remove the tree blocking the waterfall near Luna’s farm and repair the bridge in the Howling Marshes.
Completing these quests with the mermaids and Ludo will get you to the “The Mermaid’s Wish” Story Quest, which centers on Samael and Kim. Helping Kim get her land legs will also help you earn your seafaring form. Doing so is pretty simple, as you’ll just need to find two special shells at the following locations:
Misty Shores, on the beach below Ambrosia Manor

The Cave of Echoes, in the region where Copper Ore transitions to Iron Ore

Once you find them, grind them with your Alchemy Mortar and deliver them to Luna Bay. Following this cutscene, you’ll be able to access Mermaid Form from the same radial menu you use to turn into Hellkitten Form. More of Moonlight Peaks is now available for your discovery!

We’d sure love to tell you, but our team is still working on it. Stay tuned & we’ll update as soon as we uncover the details.
