My life is, and has been, deeply chaotic since becoming a parent. From days filled with diapers and nights of broken sleep to summer sunshine pouring in on stacks of magnetiles and dinosaur toys, things never slow down. In fact, I feel as if the last five years have been lived with someone mashing down on the fast-forward button. It’s so hard to take a moment and just breathe – or even find a place to do so. In the past few months, I’ve been working on creating a sanctuary in this brilliant, exhausting, all-consuming parental lifestyle. Thanks to the Lepro OE1 Corner Lamp, I think I have finally figured it out.
My goal was to create a space that can be entirely mine, especially when little heads hit pillows at the end of the day. I want a spot where I can read undisturbed and harness a tranquil and relaxing bit of me time. To do this, I needed a lamp that provided enough light to read by, but not anything harsh or obnoxious. I also needed the lamp to be portable, as my home is very small and my little sanctuary has to be packed up at the end of each reading session.
I specifically wanted a lamp that allowed me to control the brightness settings and that could be adjusted to a desired angle for an exact amount of lighting. The Lepro OE1 has done just that, and it is an incredibly smart lamp that is honestly a must-have for parents.
Lepro Lamps Dot My Home
Over the past few years, I have replaced the majority of the lamps in my house with Lepro. I have the TB1 Smart Lamp in my son’s room, the TB2 Smart Lamp in my office, and multiple O1 Floor Lamps throughout my home.
These smart lamps can be paired with the Lepro app, which allows you to control them from anywhere at any time as long as they are plugged in and synced. You can set the color, vibrancy, and intensity so that each lamp fits its space perfectly. However, the best thing by far is the ability to turn the lights on and off from your phone. I desperately wish we had these when my son was born, as late-night feedings would have been much easier with a low-light controlled from my phone.
The OE1 is a bit different than the O1, but offers all the same incredible features as other Lepro smart lamps. It syncs to the mobile app, can illuminate in RGB or white lamp light, and can be toggled for just the right amount of light. It uses a strip of light that goes from the base of the lamp to the top, allowing it to cast an ambiance of light wherever it is set. It can also be turned away for a backlight, or forward for more direct lighting. I knew it was going to be the perfect lamp for my little reading nook.
My Cozy Reading Nook is Perfect Now
To create my reading nook, I have placed the lamp behind my favorite spot on our sofa in the living room. I have a blanket tossed over the back, and my book on the side table, ready to read. The OE1 can be plugged into the power outlet directly behind the sofa, or it can be unplugged and tucked away when not in use. Its small base makes for a perfect little light while settling into the sofa.
Despite the toys that may be scattered around at any given moment, the glow from the light creates a cozy little corner that is entirely my own, and I can settle in and read, adjusting the light from my phone without having to stand up and mess with anything. It is the perfect way to spend an evening and creates the ultimate relaxing little alcove.
The best bit is that if I get sleepy, I can recline the sofa, switch the lamp off from my phone, and doze off without interrupting the tranquility.
