Mechanical Switches, Hall Effects, And Mappable Buttons
I have never used a controller with mechanical switches, but as a big fan of mechanical keyboards, I was hoping it would be just as tactile and exciting to use. I was completely right. The OPS V3 Pro controller’s BXY, D-PAD, and LB/RB buttons are all designed using mechanical switches, and accuracy combines with a satisfying click while playing any game.
I particularly like the switches on a controller, as the button depression and that delightful little snap in response make every combo or move more satisfying.
Additionally, Hall Effects on the analog sticks ensure a more accurate and pointed response from the controller while playing. I personally tested this with Hades and found that my combos were more successful, and that input was better executed than other controller options I’ve used. This includes the PlayStation 5 DualSense.
However, one of the peek elements of the OPS V3 Pro is the six mappable buttons that run under the body of the controller. I particularly like the two additional trigger buttons, which I programmed to assist in menu toggling in Stardew Valley, as well as while playing Diablo IV.
Players can also toggle the trigger depression for both the left and right sides of the controller using the manual depression settings underneath. I have kept mine at T2, which reduces the amount of pressure needed to use the trigger. This is perfect for players who need to move quickly during a match.

The charging station is also small, fully vanishing under the controller when docked, allowing the controller itself to be the main focus on a desk.
Not An Investment For Everyone
One thing to note with the OPS V3 Pro controller is that it isn’t a device for everyone. With a price tag of $100, this is an investment for pro gamers who need a wide variety of options. In fact, for casual gamers, the number of programmable buttons, options, and extras may be overwhelming.
Because of this, I would recommend this controller for those who are looking to have more options than a standard Enhanced Wireless controller can offer. Gamers who need extremely accurate input and response time are the perfect audience for this excellent controller.
However, for PC gamers who need a reliable and quality option at a lower price, the PowerA Enhanced Wireless with Lumectra, or any other Enhanced Wireless controller will get the same excellent quality at half the cost. I would recommend starting with one of the standard Enhanced Wireless options before investing in the OPS V3 Pro, to make sure the extra features are what you are looking for.
