For the past couple of years, Marvel Rivals has been building on its roster of playable heroes and villains, with many of its recent additions being centered around the mutants of the Marvel Universe. Earlier this year, Marvel Rivals Season 2 introduced the Hellfire Gala, a formal celebration held on the mutant island of Krakoa.
Naturally, fans have their wishlists of X-Men characters to be added to Marvel Rivals, with two of the most popular being Gambit and Rogue. This mutant power couple was among the names found in datamines earlier this year, and now it seems that gamers have the closest thing to a confirmation that they are coming soon.
Gambit & Rogue Marvel Rivals Images Leaked Online
Gaming news leaker Miller Ross recently pointed out what looks like artwork of Gambit and Rogue in the background of the latest Marvel Rivals patch notes announcement graphic. Twitter user badguyjohn later edited this graphic to give fans a clearer look at the pair, showing off a fairly comic-accurate look for both mutant heroes.
As badguyjohn pointed out in a subsequent Twitter post, the artwork of Gambit and Rogue appears to be based on a scene from X-Men #8 in 1992 that depicts the couple enjoying a picnic.
Marvel Rivals fans are already pretty excited to play as Gambit and Rogue, who are among some of the most popular X-Men characters. Some players have naturally speculated on their in-game movesets, with past datamines suggesting that Rogue will be a support-focused Strategist character and that Gambit will be a damage-centric Duelist.
So far, there is no word on when Gambit and Rogue will be added to Marvel Rivals, but it is believed that they will make their debut when Season 5 starts on Friday, November 14. The past few years have been an exciting time for X-Men fans, and it looks like the cameos and additions are going to keep coming for Marvel Rivals players.
