Adorable New BL Danmei Has All The Charm of Mo Dao Zu Shi

Are you hungry for some demonic cultivation? Have you reread Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian falling in love so many times that you can recite the chapters or write a university essay? Well, there is good news from Seven Seas Entertainment on an upcoming Danmei title with a very similar flavor.

Seven Seas Entertainment has announced an English translation of The White Cat’s Divine Scratching Post set to drop in December 2025. The story features some familiar tropes and a very cute premise for those interested in a bit of fluff.

The White Cat’s Divine Scratching Post Drops This December

According to the information shared on the Twitter post from Seven Seas Entertainment, The White Cat’s Divine Scratching Post is available for pre-order now. It will release on December 23, 2025, and will cost 19.99 USD or the local equivalent.

According to the breakdown of the novel shared in the post, the story follows Mo Tianliao, a “feared demonic cultivator” who was brought to justice while creating a terrible weapon. His final act before death is the rescue of his cat. This should sound very familiar to our Mo Dao Zu Shi fans.

However, instead of being reborn via the sacrifice of another, Mo Tianliao awakens as a Divine Tree with none of his previous abilities. He finds himself overseen by Qingtong, who seems to resemble that cat to an uncanny level.

While it isn’t clear if Mo Tianliao has the same sort of “not actually a bad guy” backstory as Wei Wuxian, it’s clear that hijinks, awkward scenarios, and witty banter are going to be the highlights of The White Cat’s Divine Scratching Post.

At this time, there is no graphic novel or animated adaptation of the story, but it is a translation of the original Chinese story published by author Lu Ye Qian He. Anyone who has had the opportunity to read the story ahead of translation will have the opportunity to experience the tale again with new cover art and inserts.
