March marks the official start of spring, even if it doesn’t always feel that way here in Pennsylvania. But as signs of life start to stir and sunshine makes its return, the world of book publishing tends to pick up the pace, too. It’s not quite the full-speed-ahead of the beach read season, but it’s not the quiet pace of winter, either.
Many of my most anticipated reads don’t hit until May this year. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t quite a few incredibly exciting new books making their way into the world in March 2026. From vampires with an afterlife crisis to mythology retellings, the new book releases for March are looking good. Here are our most anticipated new books coming out this month.

I’ve been a fan of vampire stories since before Twilight, and I’ve remained a fan long after my Twilight era ended. But I love a good twist on the classic vampire story, and Aubrey Wants to Die looks poised to deliver just that. In this book, our romance-obsessed vampire yearns to be human again. Immortality, it turns out, is not for her. After she falls in love with a human, she thinks she might have a second lease on life… until a blast from the past threatens everything she’s come to hope for.

Kiersten White grabbed my attention last year with The House of Quiet, so I was thrilled to see she has a new book coming out this year. This book follows the daughter of a man obsessed with vampires. His untimely death at the hands of a mysterious, beautiful woman spurs her to revenge. She devotes years to tracking her father’s killer, only to find that she could be more than she first appeared. This sounds like a haunting, sapphic twist on vampire legends, and I am here for it.
Witch of the Shadow Wood by Tori Anne Martin

A feminist, cozy romantasy retelling of Hansel and Gretel? Count me intrigued. Witch of the Shadow Wood follows Greta, whose father traded her to a witch in the woods in exchange for some magic. After years as the witch’s apprentice, she finds love with a young woman lost in the woods. Only things are more complicated than she thought, and she’ll need to fight for her happily ever after. I’m definitely curious to see how this one comes together.

A second-chance rom-com centered on luck and Chinese traditions? Yes, please. This game has a premise that brings to mind the Lindsay Lohan movie Just My Luck, where Hazel Yen’s string of misfortune suddenly ends when she kisses a handsome stranger. Only his luck seems to be running out ever since. Can they turn things around and still find luck in love? I know I can’t wait to see how they arrive at happily ever after.
Daughter of the Hunt by K Arsenault Rivera

More retelling of classic stories? You betch. March is stacked with them, and I am here for it. Daughter of the Hunt revisits the story of Artemis and Iphigenia. An eldest daughter, offered up to a goddess as a sacrifice, only to find that she might be falling in love, instead. But even if she’s come to love her new life and the goddess that granted it, Iphigenia can’t forget the fate of her family. This is a myth I’m less familiar with, and I look forward to this reimagined story.
