How to Unlock & Romance Goberto in Sovereign Tower

You find Goberto in the kitchen writing a letter, and he asks whether you are writing to someone too. This is a short scene, but it contains one of the game’s better jokes and a small affinity gain hidden behind it.

Dialogue Choices:

• Answer him,
  • “No one expects any letters from me.” (He is genuinely, awkwardly sorry for you. He heard you were a lonely fellow when you arrived. No family, no friends. His own family means the world to him, and he feels sorry for you.)
  • “Who are you writing to?” (Straight to the letter itself.)

If you took the lonely route, he keeps digging, and you get a chance to be very funny about it.

Dialogue Choices:

• Respond to his pity,
  • “I suppose that’s a plot convenience.” (+1 affinity) (He has no idea what you mean. A hot experience? He is not sure what temperature has to do with anything, but you are quite the optimist, and he will mention you in his letter as such an individual.)
  • “Sometimes it’s better to be on your own…” (Oh come now, he says, playing hard to get is very last century. Are you doing the old-fashioned lone wolf thing, mate?)

Dialogue Choices:

• On the letter itself,
  • “… What were you writing about?” (He is recounting all the sensational things that have happened to him recently. His arrival in the audience hall. You agreeing to take him on. The moment he first stepped onto the kitchen floor. All of it.)
  • “… Who were you writing to?” (His family, inevitably.)

Dialogue Choices:

• React to his diary on the kitchen floor,
  • “Sounds riveting.” (Sarcasm, entirely lost on him.)
  • “It changes a man, doesn’t it?” (Isn’t it, he agrees. A lot of emotions for one person to handle.)
