Strange Diamonds are one of the rarest crafting resources in Slime Rancher 2, and you’ll need them for some of the best gadgets in the game, including advanced refinery upgrades.
They can’t be grown, bought, or farmed directly like food or Plorts. Instead, they only appear inside resource nodes. Because of this, knowing the best spawn locations will save you a lot of wasted trips.
Strange Diamond Locations in Slime Rancher 2

Strange Diamonds can technically appear in every biome, but their spawn rate is much higher in caves and tunnels compared to open areas. Most of them spawn near different Gordo slimes.

Here’s where you should focus your searches:
- Rainbow Fields: This zone has the fewest spawn points, but you can still grab some near the Phosphor Gordo and in the cave system by the Tidepools.
- Ember Valley: A more reliable hunting ground. Diamonds can appear in the cave with the Rock Gordo and the cave with the Batty Gordo.
- Starlight Strand: This is the best area for farming Strange Diamonds. Start from the teleporter and sweep the central area, checking caves behind waterfalls, under the Split Tree, and near the Honey and Hunter Gordo locations.
Respawns are not guaranteed, so it may take several runs before you get a decent haul.
Best Uses for Strange Diamonds
Strange Diamonds in Slime Rancher 2 are best saved for crafting advanced gadgets through the Fabricator, since they’re one of the rarest resources in the game.
They’re required in building Teleporters and other Warp Tech, which are essential for fast travel and resource management.
They’re also needed for unique Utilities like the Snowball Machine and Dream Lantern, as well as several high-tier decorations such as golden statues.
Because they don’t spawn often, it’s smart to prioritize functional tech like teleporters before spending them on cosmetic builds.
