bruce lee hitman
I’ve spoken often and at length about how and why I enjoy the Hitman: World of Assassination series. However, outside of the occasional YouTube video and game guide, I have rarely touched on the Elusive Targets.
The latest Elusive Target is, more or less, the bad guy from Enter the Dragon, and now Bruce Lee is here. Not the actor Bruce Lee (for obvious reasons) but his character from Enter the Dragon, complete with yellow tracksuit and a voice actor who is definitely doing their best, I’m sure.
It’s odd. These celebrity-focused Elusive Targets in Hitman are always my least favorite ones (although being able to play someone who gets to canonically kill a character played by Sean Bean is a rite of passage I never knew I would partake in) and this is no different. It doesn’t help that Bruce Lee – one of the most iconic martial artists of all time – basically has to be babied the entire mission.
The premise is, Bruce Lee must infiltrate a fighting tournament in order to get close enough to assassinate the person running the tournament. However, there are multiple assassins who have also entered the tournament in the hopes of preventing Lee from winning. You, as Agent 47, must take these assassins out and ensure Lee wins.
Or you can ignore that, assassinate the person running the tournament yourself, then find out Lee has been poisoned, then eliminate all the assassins, then leave without curing Lee. That is a valid option. It’s also more fun.
There’s too much fluff and too many steps for this to be an Elusive Target, something which players get both ONE chance at every season and ONE chance (via the Elusive Target Arcade) every 12 hours during the season. It’s too complex for a one-and-done playthrough. Players should be able to play the Bruce Lee Hitman mission twenty times in a row if they wanted.
I won’t spend a whole additional issue talking about what IOI needs to do when it comes to the upcoming James Bond game 007: First Light, but these always-online, limited-time missions need to go. Let players enjoy your game as much or as little as they want. Don’t manufacture scarcity.
I will say this for the Bruce Lee Hitman pack, it is the first time IOI has made the Himmapan Hotel level interesting for me. The location (used in the story mode mode to eliminate Jordan Cross) has long been on my list of “least favorite Hitman locations” but something about the organization and setup of the Bruce Lee mission feels right.
It’s much more interesting than trying to trick drunk partygoers, that’s for sure. For those interested:
Official Hitman Level Tier List (World of Assassination)
Here is the 100% official tier list of all the levels in Hitman: World of Assassination:

I will be taking no questions on this.
Hitman: World of Assassination’s underrated feature
I played a lot of Hitman organically, ignoring Mission Stories and just doing what I noticed and what felt right. In 2016, this was fine. This was still fine in 2021. In 2025, I need something more.
I went through and completed all the Mission Stories, and that wasn’t enough. Then I discovered the Challenges – or, to be more specific, I actually paid attention to them. Let me tell you, this is where the real sickos hang out.
“Eliminate Robert Knox with the giant shark.” I never even noticed the giant shark in the aquarium room before. “Eliminate targets with the garden shears, garden fork, and garden shredder to get a new fancy gun.” You’re on it, boss.
The challenges in Hitman: World of Assassination are worth looking at, if you are like me and still enjoying the same game you first played nine years on a regular, weekly basis. I’m not joking. I play Hitman every weekend, if it is possible to do so, and I still love it. It is very likely one of my most-played games of all time at this point, landing World of Assassination on a list which probably looks something like:
5. Ghosts ‘n Goblins
4. Hitman: World of Assassination
3. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
2. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
1. Skyblazer
Dark Souls is probably up there, too, and Majora’s Mask, Final Fantasy X, PUBG, King’s Quest: Mask of Eternity, Enter the Matrix, Silent Hill 2, Dead Rising, and maybe Resident Evil 4. We’re getting off-topic again.
The point is, I am incredibly grateful to IOI for continuing to support Hitman over all these years. I am terrified that the servers may someday shutdown (although, from what I understand, the community does have a fix for that when and if it comes) but the fact that I am still getting updates (as conflicted as I am about the Bruce Lee pack, I’m glad it exists) and still finding enjoyment in a game I have put over 500 hours into is, frankly, lovely.
