If you love a cozy game, chances are you’ve played your fair share of farming sims. From Harvest Moon to the absolute juggernaut that is Stardew Valley, farming sims are a staple of the cozy gaming genre. Because they’re so popular, many of us like to see a farm sim with a twist. Enter Farming Camp. This upcoming single-player farm management game sees you attending a special, farming-focused camp. That’s right, we’re not inheriting grandpa’s farm. Instead, we’re competing with our fellow campers to claim the title of the best Evertree Farmer.
Farming Camp comes from developer Innerfire Studios and publisher Soedesco. It’s set to release in just a few weeks on September 24th. However, the game demo lets players get an early taste of what’s to come. Previously, the Farming Camp demo has only been available on PC via Steam. But today, Soedesco announced that the demo is expanding to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. That means cozy gamers on just about any platform can dig in early to see whether Farming Camp is their next big obsession.
Farming Camp Expands Free Demo to All Planned Platforms Ahead of September 24th Release
With budgets as tight as they are these days, many gamers want to try before they buy. After all, games are an investment, and there’s nothing quite like paying up front for a game only to realize it’s not for you. That’s where free demos come in, letting you get a taste for a game before you commit to its full price. The Farming Camp demo has been available on Steam since May, so PC gamers have likely had a chance to try it out. But the demo is just now expanding to consoles as of today, September 11th. At the time I’m writing this, you can already download and test out Farming Camp for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Nintendo Switch version of the demo is expected to go live later today. It should also be playable on Switch 2 via backwards compatibility.
So, what can you expect from the demo? According to the Steam description, the Farming Camp demo offers one week of gameplay. This includes trying out 6 mini-games, completing a few in-game quests, and meeting 13 characters. You can get a look at the game’s demo in action via the trailer, which released alongside the Steam version of the demo back in May:
As you can see, the demo will give us a taste of character interactions, quests, and the adorable pixel art that brings Farming Camp to life. It’s not yet clear whether progress will carry over from the demo to the full game once it comes out later this month. But if you’re eager to see what this game has to offer, you can now check it out on consoles as well as PC.
Farming Camp releases for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on September 24th. It will cost $29.99 at launch.
