This week, Dead by Daylight received its 7.7.0 update after a lengthy two weeks of testing and changes from the PTB. However, players have noticed an unintentional glitch that’s caused the fabric on most Survivor outfits to break.

Fair warning to those who might not want to load these images up on their devices, the screenshots below are a little NSFW.

Skirts and dresses leave nothing to the imagination in Dead by Daylight thanks to update 7.7.0

The 7.7.0 update for Dead by Daylight brought a few changes to Perks and Killer behaviors. The biggest part was an in-game store update that’s been needed for the last three years. Somehow, in amongst these changes, developer Behaviour Interactive has created a wardrobe malfunction.

A few players shared their experiences with this bug on the Dead by Daylight Subreddit. As you can see in the images above, the skirts and dresses that once acted like actual clothing on Survivors now reveal, or in some cases flaunt, the underwear of female characters.

It’s even worse for Ada Wong because the bottom of her dress has just completely disappeared. I don’t know why it’s any worse for her, but it might have something to do with her outfits being pretty short already.

I hopped into the game last night to check if this was a platform-specific problem and can confirm it’s not. I’ve never seen underwear in Dead by Daylight because the outfits have always hidden them well enough and I’m always too concerned with running away or hooking Survivors. Right now, it’s inescapable every time you start a Trial.

The issue is so widespread that we’re not getting memes about it, with modders removing fabric from Killers such as Nemesis, which is more gross than anything else. The Nemesis situation could also be a real example of the glitch, but the Dead by Daylight community finds it so hilarious that it’s hard to tell.

I don’t know what happened here but it’s not the end of the world. The store update has been an aside from the Perk and Killer updates for the past month, which is why I think this issue might have slipped through the cracks.

While these errors make Dead by Daylight feel like it’s back to day one and the development team needs to fix it so it functions on a normal level, it’s an issue that isn’t causing toxicity and has brought out the lighthearted players in their droves. It reminds me a lot of the Predecessor community, where everyone is just trying to have fun and tends to stamp down on those wanting to pick fights or be mean.
