New information about the upcoming WWE 2K26 suggests that this year’s Showcase Mode will be centered around CM Punk. Every year, developer Visual Concepts puts the spotlight on a certain wrestler, group, or event through 2K Showcase Mode, which lets players experience some of the best matches in WWE history.

Last year’s WWE 2K Showcase Mode was focused on The Bloodline, and featured highlights from The Rock, Roman Reigns, The Usos, Yokozuna, and other wrestlers in the legendary Anoaʻi family. Early reports indicate that WWE 2K26 will instead theme Showcase Mode around a single Superstar once again, which hasn’t been the case since the recently retired John Cena headlined the mode in WWE 2K23.

CM Punk Will Reportedly Star In WWE 2K26 Showcase Mode

According to a new report from Insider Gaming, WWE 2K26‘s Showcase Mode is said to be centered around CM Punk. Sources claim that Punk himself will narrate the mode in pre-match cutscenes, which have been a staple of Showcase Mode for the past few years.

WWE 2K26‘s Showcase Mode will reportedly consist of three sections of matches. The first will consist of highlights from CM Punk’s long and impressive WWE career. The second will be a series of “what if” matches that will show what could have happened had Punk not infamously left WWE in 2014. Lastly, a third section will feature fantasy matches between Punk and opponents he never got the opportunity to face.

CM Punk’s supposed involvement in WWE 2K26‘s Showcase Mode comes during a high point for the Second City Saint. After making headlines with his shocking return to WWE in the fall of 2023, Punk has enjoyed several high-profile feuds with the likes of Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and John Cena, and is currently the WWE World Heavyweight Champion on WWE Monday Night Raw after winning it in late 2025.

These moments could very well appear in the CM Punk-centric WWE 2K26 Showcase Mode, along with some of the biggest matches of his initial WWE run. The self-proclaimed Best in the World has no shortage of career highlights, and it will be a treat for fans to see what kind of alternate showdowns could appear in the mode’s rumored “what if” and fantasy segments.
