This year has brought us some great new indie games across genres. We’ve had everything from cozy baking sims like Cinnabunny to organizing hidden object games like Whisper of the House. The latter has become a breakout hit, earning an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam since its launch in August of this year. With pixel graphics, a compelling story, and soothing puzzle gameplay, Whisper of the House has become a new favorite for many cozy gamers. And now, it’s about to get even better.
On December 18th, developer GD Studio shared some exciting news. Whisper of the House is hitting its lowest ever price during the Steam Winter Sale at 20% off now through January 5th. Not only that, but the game is getting a surprise winter update. This major patch adds new permanent and limited-time features, giving fans a great excuse to jump back into the game or try it for the first time.
Whisper of the House Special Update Adds New Levels, Limited-Time Events, And More
The surprise 1.1 update to Whisper of the House is available now. This patch is full of new content, along with some UI improvements and bug fixes. Whether you’ve sunk hours into Whisper of the House already or are grabbing it for the first time during the sale, these additions are sure to give you even more to enjoy.
The latest update for Whisper of the House adds a Tasty Diner and Shadowed Courtyard level for players to explore. That means new puzzles and hidden objects to uncover. There is also a limited-time winter-themed event, the Snow King Festival. Players will also find a new courtyard layout for the Hermit’s Apartment and some new materials for bartending and baking. There is also new furniture, including a limited-time Snow King Festival set.
Along with the major new content additions, the update adds new features for photo mode, a new “Reset Level” option, and some general performance enhancements. The UI has also been adjusted, as have some rewards and recipes. Between this and a subsequent minor patch, many bugs have also been resolved. Whisper of the House is available for PC and Mac via Steam. It normally costs $14.99, but is marked down to just $11.99 during the 2025 Winter Sale.
