Regardless of how long you’ve been into Warhammer, I’ve got some great news for you. No less than 20-ish classic Warhammer video games have just been brought to Steam by the boutique publisher SNEG.
If you’ve been playing the tabletop for 30 years or just got into worshipping The Emperor with Space Marine 2, this is a golden opportunity for you. At the time of writing, quite a few of the games are discounted, so now’s your best chance to pick them up and dive deeper into the universe.
Don’t Wait To Get In On Warhammer Classics While They’re Hot
Warhammer has been around for almost as long as I have, and that’s saying something. During that time, there have been plenty of video games that explore all corners of the universe. I played a few of them back in the day, though far from all of them.
Between my friends and I, we know that at least half of all these games are being played, and I’m pretty excited they’re now on Steam for all of you to try. So why do this now? Well, SNEG and Games Workshop presumably want to make a bit more cash from the extensive back catalog.
However, cynicism aside, this is an initiative designed to give fans of modern video games a chance to explore all those titles that came before. Not only are they available on Steam, but they’ve also got the GOG seal of approval and preservation guarantee, meaning they’ll be playable on every system forever.
The one game I implore you all to play is Fire Warrior. It puts you in control of a titular Fire Warrior of the Tau race, a bunch of super-advanced aliens who fight with a bunch of easily-battered but very lethal mech armor.
But the real beauty of Warhammer Classics is that all these games cross pretty much every genre. No matter what you like to play, you’ll find something you like here.
Please, though, do give Fire Warrior a good try. If you want to hear more about Warhammer and everything else we’re into, follow all our socials and sign up to our free Patreon to get everything in your emails.
