Tiny Bookshop is getting a DLC, and Bookstonbury-by-the-Sea isn’t done with you yet. The adorable, tiny bookshop simulation game has remained a fan staple since its 2025 release, with players hungry for new shipments to shelve.
Neoludic’s cozy bookshop sim earned an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam after launching in August 2025, and the story it told left players hungry for more. The game’s interlocking character quests all resolve before the credits roll, which meant that for a town so carefully built, the ending always felt a little too tidy.
Players have been asking for an expansion since nearly launch day, and the studio just answered them. While details are sparse, it is an exciting announcement after a quiet start to the 2026 cozy release schedule.
Tiny Bookshop’s First Story DLC is Officially in the Works
Neoludic dropped the announcement on May 6, dressed up as the front page of the in-game Bookstonbury Review newspaper.
The headline confirmed a “next adventure in Bookstonbury-by-the-Sea,” and the accompanying screenshot featured Harper, a beloved young NPC introduced at launch, referencing school.
The studio offered almost no other details about the Tiny Bookshop DLC beyond being “really excited” about what’s coming, and no release window or Steam listing has appeared yet.
Harper is nine years old at the start of the story, full of outsized ambitions and a conviction that she’ll one day run her own mobile shop selling haunted toys.
Her arc in the original game gestures at something larger without quite delivering it, and if the DLC picks up where she left off, there’s plenty of story left to tell. Fans flooded the replies with enthusiasm, which, given the game’s 96% positive Steam rating, should surprise no one.
Hopefully, more details about the upcoming expansion for Tiny Bookshop will come in future weeks, as cozy fans prep for the 2026 Wholesome Direct showcase.
