Fans who fell in love with the second installment of the beloved Final Fantasy VII remake series have gotten exciting news during The Game Awards 2024, with FFVII: Rebirth‘s PC release date officially announced.
Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth released on PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024, taking players who restarted their journey in Midgar during Remake through new sections of the beloved story.
From terrifying encounters with Sephiroth to the agonizing fate of Zack Fair, the story enchanted and broke the hearts of fans worldwide. Now, those without a PS5 will finally have the chance to play Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth as it comes to PC after the start of 2025.

As officially revealed during The Game Awards 2024, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth will release on PC January 23, 2025.
After waiting nearly a year for the chance to play the game off-console, this news is extremely welcome. Limited console release often prevents those wanting to play from accessing prominent titles, and Square Enix’s Final Fantasy series has remained a core franchise at the heart of the gaming community.
At this time, pre-orders have yet to go live, though according to a social media post shared on Twitter, they will be live in the next 24 hours. It is likely the cost will be around the $69.99 currently required for the standard copy of the PS5 edition.
Additionally, players will also likely have the opportunity to purchase deluxe and collector’s editions of the title which could range up over $100 USD.
Despite the pricetag, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth is a masterpiece, and one well worth jumping in to play. Whether you loved the series as a child, or have become a fan via the remakes, the story is beautiful, the detail added to the original story is enthralling, and the journey is one you won’t ever forget.
