Fae Farm’s magical co-op farming world is about to change forever. The multiplayer servers are shutting down, leaving only offline play.

The game launched on September 8, 2023, with multiplayer as its magic ingredient. Fans fell in love with the colorful world shaped by developers who were truly passionate about the project.

Up to four friends could farm, dungeon-crawl, and share resources across PC and consoles. You could chase your own quests and romances while pooling money for upgrades, striking that perfect “my farm” meets “our farm” balance.

It didn’t take long for the community to bloom, Discord filled with farm nights and tips, Reddit with challenges and guides. Multiplayer wasn’t just a feature; it was the glue holding the whole vibe together.

So Long, Partner

But now it’s official. Phoenix Labs posted on the game’s Steam page that Fae Farm will go offline on September 10 at 11:59 PM Pacific. Single-player’s safe, but online play is gone for good.

Fae Farm multiplayer going offline notice

Fans aren’t taking it lightly. One player worried about whether Switch owners could still do local co-op, adding, “I fear the online mode will stop working completely.”

Another sighed, “Going offline after just a few years is sad.” A third was blunt: “Offline means offline. no more multiplayer. at all… this game is great. but it’s better in multiplayer.”

This didn’t come out of nowhere. Since being bought by blockchain company Forte Labs in 2023, Phoenix Labs has gone through layoffs, leadership walkouts, and canceled projects. In January 2025, most of the staff were gone. With the website down and no one left to maintain the game, Fae Farm’s online days were numbered.

It’s rough saying goodbye to a game that made farming with friends feel this good. If you still want that co-op farm life, you might have to look toward Stardew Valley, Coral Island, or Sun Haven instead.
