Earlier this year, Stardew Valley players on PC got to enjoy the massive 1.6 update to the base game. This free update brought a ton of new features to the already detailed world of Stardew Valley, including new farm layouts, festivals, and more.
However, console and mobile players have been watching from the wings, wondering when they might get to enjoy the same new features. The game’s creator, Concerned Ape, has provided sporadic updates about the project. However, we’ve had no release date in sight – until now.
Stardew Valley 1.6 Update Is Coming to Console & Mobile in 2024
If you thought you’d end your year without Stardew Valley 1.6 on your Nintendo Switch, Concerned Ape’s latest tweet brings good tidings.
This short and sweet update gets right to the point – the console and mobile versions of the 1.6 update will arrive on November 4, 2024. That means players only have a little over a month to wait before they can see everything this massive update has to offer.
If you’re curious about which consoles are included, Concerned Ape has some clarifying comments in the responses to his original post. Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox are all included in this planned release date. In addition, the mobile Android and iOS versions of the game will get the 1.6 update on November 4.
Basically, come November 4, all Stardew fans will have the 1.6 update!
Some players have been a bit frustrated with the long wait between the PC release and console/mobile versions. Avoiding spoilers for the new content has, in some cases, been pretty much impossible. Even so, there’s plenty of excitement about finally having a specific day to look forward to.
“Can’t wait to play it!” says one fan on X, adding “Thank you for taking the time to make sure it’s great!”
Others simply respond with gifs of a dancing Junimo, which honestly, same. As someone who ended up getting Stardew Valley on PC just to see what all the hype was about, it will be exciting to return to the Nintendo Switch with this cozy game.
