Despite Assassin’s Creed having made it to pretty much every physical and digital platform on the planet, there’s one place I’ve not seen it conquer: the stage.
Of course, we’ve had concerts for the series before, but this is a play directed by Sébastien Soldevila, bringing together a whole host of Montreal-based creators. In the past, this kind of jump from game to stage might have been a bit difficult, but I’m genuinely excited about what’s in store.
HEREDIS Echoes Of The Past Brings Assassin’s Creed To Life With A Fresh Performance

Titled HEREDIS Echoes of the Past, this play tells an original story with 17 performers and includes acrobatics, parkour, combat, and large-scale physical feats, exactly as you’d expect to see in an Assassin’s Creed entry. As a fan, I’m awfully excited to see a new story unfold on stage because it brings a new medium into the mix, as well as a new take on what Assassin’s Creed can be.
The story follows a young man searching for his father, who disappeared many years before. On the protagonist’s 25th birthday, a mysterious letter leads him to the HEREDIS program, and that, in turn, leads him on a journey of discovery across the centuries of humanity’s history. It’s almost ripped right out of the first game in the series, pulling everything back to the inception point that made me fall in love with these games.
The show will debut in Canada, but you can keep an eye on its official website to see when tour dates show up in your local area. Having been to a live performance of video game music, I can tell you that it really is something else seeing all this in person. I can’t imagine how amazing an original show on the stage will be.
This news comes hot on the heels of the official reveal of the incredibly poorly kept secret that was Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced. It’s been a while, but 2026 is shaping up to be a big return to the golden era of exciting projects in this franchise that are genuinely exciting experiences to play, listen to, watch, and feel your way through.
