Table of contents
Never Planned on You by Lindsay Hameroff

- Release Date: February 18, 2025
- Price: $18 on Amazon
- Publisher: St. Martin’s Griffin
- ARC Received: Yes
Last year, I read and adored Hameroff’s debut, Till There Was You. Naturally, I am eager to see what she does next with her latest novel, Never Planned on You.
This book is a second-chance romance where a wedding planner finds herself suddenly reunited with the man she had a magical one night stand with many years ago. Unfortunately, he also just so happens to be the groom for the high-profile wedding that could make or break her career.
This kind of setup can be a tricky one in romances, but a few details from the extended synopsis have me hoping it’ll be handled beautifully. Fingers crossed for a slow-burn, laugh-out loud delight with this one.
Heart of the Shadow King by Sylvia Mercedes

- Release Date: February 28, 2025
- Price: $19 on Amazon
- Publisher: Ace Books
- ARC Received: Yes
Though I read a lot of what you might consider Romantasy when I was younger, I’ve struggled to return to it as an adult. However, the first two books in Sylvia Mercedes’ Bride of the Shadow King series were an absolute delight that grabbed me and wouldn’t let go.
Heart of the Shadow King is the third installment in the series, which is being updated and re-published by Ace this year. I won’t spill too many details here in case you haven’t read the first two books in the trilogy. But basically, underground kingdom worldbuilding, magical powers, and plenty of slow burn tension. This series blends a fast-paced plot with dual POV character buildling that keeps you turning the pages and wanting more.
Hungerstone by Kat Dunn

- Release Date: February 18, 2025
- Price: $28 on Amazon
- Publisher: Zando
- ARC Received: Yes
With Nosferatu bringing the vampire girlies back out in full force, why wouldn’t we include a feminist re-imagining of Carmilla on this list? Also, this one has Emilia Hart’s Weyward as one of its comp titles, and that was one of my top reads of 2023.
Hungerstone follows Lenore, wife of a steel magnate who’s struggling to navigate their childless marriage. Enter the mysterious Carmilla, who brings out a hunger Lenore didn’t know she had. This book puts a feminist, LGBT spin on the book the inspired Dracula, and we are here for it.
Deep End by Ali Hazelwood

- Release Date: February 4, 2025
- Price: $20 on Amazon
- Publisher: Berkley
- ARC Received: No
Ali Hazelwood is best known for her STEMinist romances, but this book brings her into the popular Sports Romance arena. And listen, as a former color guard geek who only attended football games for the mandatory halftime show performance, that’s not my genre of choice. But for Ali Hazelwood, I’m willing to go there.
Deep End is a college romance between a competitive diver and star swimmer. Scarlett wants to focus on recovering from a major injury and getting into med school. But a secret slips out between her and swim captain Lukas, which leads to a surprising (and steamy) arrangement between them.
Wooing the Witch Queen by Stephanie Burgis

- Release Date: February 18, 2025
- Price: $19.99 on Amazon
- Publisher: Bramble
- ARC Received: Yes
Gaslamp fantasy featuring a fierce and feared Witch Queen, anyone? Also, the tagline for this one is “Love can be a witch. What can I say, I love a good pun.
Queen Saska is fully focused on keeping her realm safe, and that means focusing on improving her arsenal of spells. She doesn’t have time to get her library in order, which is why she’s tempted when a mysterious wizard stops by and offers to help. Only said wizard, however charming he is, might be hiding a secret that would put her and everything she’s worked for at risk.
There you have it, our Bonus Action most anticipated book releases for February 2025! We can’t wait to dig into each and every one of these exciting new titles – and so many more.
