There are many puzzles in Slime Rancher 2, but one of the harder, earlier game challenges blocks access to a critical building material: The Jetpack Drive. To reach this, players will need to unlock Ember Valley and then gather a series of materials to be prepared to reach it.
The Jetpack Drive is the key item for the final upgrade on the Jetpack. Unlike the Power Core upgrades, the Jetpack upgrade impacts the tool itself, making it 20% more energy efficient when in use.
However, getting this upgrade can be tricky if you don’t know where to look.

Where To Find the Jetpack Drive in Slime Rancher 2
The Jetpack Drive is located in the second map area of Embery Valley. It is easy to miss, as players must enter the cave system to find the initial puzzle.

Once inside the cave area, the puzzle will be marked on the game’s map. However, because it requires extra work, it is easy to put this on the back burner and walk away. We would advise not doing this and unlocking the area as soon as possible.
How to Complete The Jetpack Drive Puzzle

To complete the Jetpack Drive puzzle, players will need to harvest three Boom Slime Plorts and place them in the three Boom Slime Conduits within the room.
How to Remove the Rock Slime

Once these are unlocked, players will be able to access the Rock Gordo beyond the puzzle. To remove this Gordo, collect 50 Carrots or 25 Heart Beets and feed it until it explodes.
Once removed, players will be able to collect the Jetpack Drive. After it has been picked up, it will automatically be added to the Refinery inventory. Head back to the lab to finish upgrading the Jetpack.

The second Upgrade will cost:
- 20 Phosphor Plorts
- 10 Batty Plorts
- 20 Radiant Ore
- 10 TBD
- 1 Jetpack Drive
- 1500 Newbucks
As of the Slime Rancher 2 1.0 release, there are no additional upgrades for the Jetpack, just the four additional Energy expansions for the Power Core.
