Of all the romances in Date Everything, Mateo’s might be one of the purest. As the local rescue runner, this soft, snuggly blanket has his hands full helping all the inanimals that live in the house. But one task has proven to tricky for him.
Mateo has lost his friend and companion, Davi, but has a hard time asking for help. It’s up to you to embark on the harrowing task of finding the Tassel Hound so he can come back and live with everyone who loves him.
Below is everything you need to know to find Davi in Date Everything and Romance Mateo.

Where to find Mateo in Date Everything
Mateo is the blanket draped across the chair in the living room. He is available from the start of the game, but is only located in one spot in the house.
How to Get the Love Ending with Mateo
For this quest, we are going to use collapsible tabs so spoilers aren’t accidentally seen before you get through each step. We have broken the quest down by interactions with Mateo. This quest must be completed to finish Mateo’s story.
Step One
Talk to Mateo by realizing the blanket on the chair in the living room. Offer to help him when he begins to speak about Davi, and insist when he initially refuses the help.
Step Two
Speak with Phoenicia to get a hint about Davi and help spread the word about the missing Inanimal.
Step Three
Speak with Mateo the next day, and he will offer several leads for you to follow. The first lead will take you to the laundry room closet, where you will realize the Vacuum, Hoove.
Step Four
Follow Hoove’s tip about having seen Davi sniffing around the wicker basket in the laundry room. Look on the windowsill above the laundry basket and interact with the piece of greenery there. Pick it up and bring it to Mateo to learn about the piece of Davi’s thread.
How to Find and Unlock Connie in Date Everything
Step Five
The next step to finding Davi will be tricky. You need to find “Connie”, who is supposedly the video game console. However, whenever you interact with the console, you get a character named Luna, who can’t remember you. To solve this puzzle, do the following:
- Interact with the console
- Choose “Wait – we’ve definitely met. Don’t you remember?”
- Choose “No, we fell in love, remember?”
- “But it happened I swear! How can I get you to believe me?”
- You will learn her secret passphrase “Lingonberries”
- Go to bed, and talk to her again the next day.
- Speak to “Luna” and answer immediately with “Lingonberries”
- Go through the loop again, a few things will be different, but the most important thing is the recipe for crafting. “4 Globules, 1 Wood, 2 Scrouf Skins”
- Return to “Luna” again after sleeping and select “Lingonberries”
- Let her know that you have already told her about everything before.
- Tell her to put on the Xeno-Goggles when the time comes
- Tell her to take the Assassin Class out with stealth
- Make an item with the recipe above.
- Play out the rest of the scene to unlock Connie.
Step Six
Pick up the Spring Inanimal beside Connie’s console on the TV Stand. Speak to Mateo the next day. He will tell you to investigate the gym closet next.
Head up to the gym closet. Look on the right side and you will spot two little tassels peeking out from underneath.
Interact with the tassels to find Davi. Then head back to Mateo to hand him over. It is important to note that you will have to do this the following day, as interacting with the Inanimals counts as interacting with Mateo for the day.
After completing the above steps, you will then need to talk to Mateo to return Davi. Speak to Mateo again the next day, and he will confess his feelings for you. Accept them as lovers to get the love ending.
How to Get the Friends Ending with Mateo
Complete everything as done above, but choose to be friends instead of lovers when Mateo confesses.
How to Get the Hate Ending with Mateo
Be unkind to the inanimals, be rude to Mateo, or be generally unhelpful in finding Davi. This is a really rough one because you must be intentionally horrible to Mateo to offend him.
