How Ingredients Work in Magical Delicacy – Properties & Flavors
Ingredients in Magical Delicacy have a few key traits to keep in mind as you fulfill orders. Here is where you can find that information in the ingredient info card, and what each one means:

Rarity
Each ingredient has a rarity level, designated in its description as Common, Rare, Exotic, or Relic. For some orders, you’ll need to use only a certain rarity or exclude a particular kind, so it’s important to note this detail when working with ingredients.
Flavor
Each ingredient’s flavor will impact the final dish – we’ll get into how those interact with each other in the next section. Some orders will request a specific final flavor, so you’ll want to keep track of the flavors of individual ingredients to produce the right final result.
Type
Ingredients of different types play a part in what your final dish becomes and they’re a key part of following recipes in the game. For instance, many recipes will require a Spice or a Mushroom as one of the ingredients – which kind is up to you and will depend on the flavor and rarity requests for each specific order.
Crafted Ingredients in Magical Delicacy
As you progress in the game, you’ll need to start using base ingredients to create more complex recipe components. These crafted items are created in a few key ways:
- Ground (Mortar & Pestle)
- Roasted (Oven)
- Juiced (Juicer)
- Dehydrated (Dehydrator)
- Enchanted (Altar)
Only certain ingredients can be transformed using these methods, so you’ll need to choose wisely when a recipe calls for something Ground or Dehydrated. Every ingredient’s info card includes details on which methods it’s compatible with, as shown here:

In this example, we see that Wildvine can be Ground, but it cannot be Roasted or Juiced. The empty slots reflect tools that you haven’t yet unlocked in your game. Once you unlock them, you’ll see each ingredient’s info for those tools, too.
Magical Delicacy Flavor Tips & Tricks
Combining flavors is one of the most complicated aspects of Magical Delicacy. Each flavor interacts with others in specific – and occasionally unexpected – ways. Thankfully, the game includes a quick cheat sheet about Determining Flavors that can help once it’s unlocked. Here’s a quick look at the cheat cheat and a breakdown of what it means:

Here, the flavor icons show the weakest flavor (Insipid) through to the strongest one (Foul). A stronger flavor will typically overpower a weaker one unless you use multiple ingredients of the weaker flavor.
On the right, we can see that certain flavors will always overpower another one if you use an ingredient with that flavor in the dish. They are:
- Insipid overpowers Sweet
- Delicate overpowers Foul
- Refreshing overpowers Sour
- Creamy overpowers Spicy
- Poisonous overpowers Foul
Keeping these elements in mind can help you make sure you wind up with a dish that meets your delivery request.
Tauno also sells a Keepsake that lets you preview a dish’s flavor. This “Notes on Flavor” keepsake, when equipped, will show you what flavor a dish will become before you cook it – a huge help in the kitchen!
How to Get Ingredient Plant Markers for Your Map

As of the 1.1 Update, players can now buy special Plant Markers from Colo. These are available after you get the map from her, and will mark the location of newly discovered plants on your map. This makes it easier to find ingredients again once you’ve discovered them.
If you’re playing on an old save and have already discovered the ingredients, the marker unfortunately won’t work properly. It only logs ingredients when you harvest them for the first time.
All Ingredients & Where to Find Them
Here’s a quick breakdown of all known ingredients in Magical Delicacy and how to get them. For those that can be harvested in the wild, see below for map locations of where you can find each one.
Keep in mind that each merchant’s stock expands as you progress through the story and make deliveries. If you’re not seeing an ingredient for sale with the merchant listed below, try filling an outstanding orders for them to unlock more ingredients.
Most merchants are available day or night, but Alba’s Fruit in the Upper Market is only open during the day, so plan accordingly for all your fruit ingredient needs.
TIP: Some ingredients are spiky, and you’ll need to buy the Gardening Gloves from Sana to harvest them.

What Happens to Aki’s Wares When They Travel On?
Once you hit a certain point in the story, Aki will continue along on their travels. That means you’ll no longer be able to buy items directly from this merchant – but don’t worry! They will pass their wares on to other merchants in town, based on the type of ingredient.
On our ingredient chart, see the merchant listed after “or” for all of Aki’s Wares to see where to buy them once the traveler moves on from Grat.
How to Track Merchant Locations in Magical Delicacy
Can’t remember where to find a specific merchant? After you unlock the map from Colo, you’ll be able to buy an incredibly helpful Marker Bundle for Merchants.

This costs 85 beads and can be purchased from Colo anywhere you find her. Once you have it, all merchant locations will be clearly marked on your map with colorful icons and it will be much easier to track them down. I recommend grabbing this as soon as possible because it’s a real game-changer for your map’s usefulness.
All Crafted Ingredients in Magical Delicacy and How to Make Them
In addition to those purchased and foraged ingredients you’ll use to make your magical wares, you’ll sometimes need to craft ingredients to use in other recipes. Here are the crafted ingredients we’ve found and how to make them:
| Crafted Ingredient | Recipe | Kitchen Keepsake |
|---|---|---|
| Bread | Wheat Flour Rocksalt | Oven |
| Fragrant Oil | Ground Kernel Flower | Oven |
| Golden Bread | Goldflour Rocksalt | Oven |
| Marmalade | Honeyspark Sugar Fruit | Pot |
| Noodles | Wheat Flour Rocksalt | Cutting Board |
| Pickled Petals | Flower Spice | Cutting Board |
| Voidmilk | Snailnut Milk Pine Needles Ironclove | Cauldron (Under Moonlight Not Required) |
Most recipes for crafted ingredients can be purchased from vendors, but some, like the Voidmilk recipe are trickier.
The recipe for Voidmilk in Magical Delicacy is hidden in a secret area of Tauno’s hut. You can only get there by dropping through the floor to the right of Tauno. Then, you’ll enter a hidden area. Head to the left and you’ll see a shadow spot – transform into your cat form and head further to the left. You’ll see a box that holds the recipe for Voidmilk.
In addition to crafted recipes, you will alter and enchance some ingredients to create Ground, Roasted, Juiced, Enchanted, and Dried variations. These are not technically crafted ingredients but do require some preparation to use in recipes – each ingredient’s info lists whether it can be enchanced in these ways.
All Wild Harvest Ingredient Spots in Magical Delicacy
Keep in mind that ingredients respawn at different rates, so it may take a while for that item to reappear if you’ve harvested it recently. Rarer ingredients, like Shadowblade, take longer to respawn than more common ones, like Moonberries.
Getting to some harvest spots is easier at night thanks to the appearance of special platforms that only show in the moonlight. However, we’ve yet to find any ingredients that only appear under the moon, so you should be able to havest them any time of day so long as they’ve regrown.

Thanks for the help but I do have one small correction. Delicate overpowers bitter not foul.
