Coral Island’s 1.2 Multiplayer update drops August 14, 2025, at 10 AM PDT, and it’s about to change how you play.

Whether you’re here to team up with friends, deepen your island romance, or snag some special crossover goodies, there’s a lot to dig into.

Multiplayer Farming Finally Arrives

The wait is over. You can now team up with friends to share resources, knock out chores, and build your dream farm together with the Coral Island multiplayer update.

Multiplayer marriage is included so that you can marry another player in-game. Yep, someone’s pixel spouse is about to be very busy watering crops.

Crossplay Rules to Know

  • Steam ↔ Xbox works
  • Steam ↔ PlayStation works
  • Xbox ↔ PlayStation doesn’t work
  • You can only pair Steam with one console type per session
  • No split-screen co-op (no local co-op at all)
  • If two players romance the same NPC, it’s literally a race to propose.

Also, let’s just get the sad news out of the way: No Switch update news yet.

Romance Gets a Major Glow-Up

NPC relationships aren’t just about heart events anymore.

  • Hangout Events let you chill with islanders in mini-moments like beach bonfires and jam sessions, complete with unique cutscenes.
  • Married life gets deeper with Heart Events 11–15, showing more intimate moments and conversations that reveal your spouse’s hopes and fears.

Fashionably spooky

Every dateable character now has their own Spooky Outfit for Fall’s Spooky Festival. You might catch them during ghost-story nights if you’re close enough friends. Yes, pumpkin-core season is alive and well.

Crossover with Funguys Swarm

Coral Island is teaming up with Stairway’s next game, Funguys Swarm, launching August 21 for $4.99.

Buy it, and you’ll unlock a Fungarian Outfit, Fungarian Chest + recipe, and an adorable Mythical Pet Outfit for Rusdy in Coral Island.

Coral Island Update 1.2 Trailer

This update is shaping up to be Coral Island’s biggest vibe shift yet. Doesn’t matter if you’re coming back for the farming, the flirting, or the spooky fits: August 14 is your day.
