Summer reading season is officially upon us here in the States. For me, that means grabbing some beach reads and hanging out in my lounge chair. I read romance year-round, but there’s just something extra special about a nice summer read.

June is definitely poised to deliver some exciting new books for readers to check out. Some of my personal favorite authors have new books coming out in June, but I’ve run across plenty of other enticing titles I want to check out, too. It’s another month that’s tricky to narrow down, but I managed to curate a few of the most anticipated book releases for June nevertheless!

The quick tagline for this one is “Iron Chef meets The Hunger Games” and if that didn’t grab me, “young noodle chef who competes in a cutthroat cooking competition for the gods” sure did.

Celestial Banquet follows Cai, a chef who enters this once-in-a-generation competition in the hopes of snagging the prize and using her newfound fortune to start her own restaurant. The combination of fantasy, folklore, and food has me eager to dig into this one ASAP.

Josie Silver is one of my auto-buy authors, and I could barely contain my excitement when I saw the title for her latest. Slow burn? Summer? Josie Silver? Count me all the way in. But for those who need a little more info to be convinced, I’ll hit the highlights.

This book follows Charlie Francisco, a divorced former screenwriter who begrudingly pens a romance novel he doesn’t want to be associated with. Enter former soap actress star Kate Elliot, who agrees to play the author of Charlie’s book for its big whirlwind tour. But when the two of them meet, sparks – and friction – fly.

Sometimes, a book title just grabs you. Other times, you can’t resist a cute cover. In the case of An Ancient Witch’s Guide to Modern Dating, it was both. And the unique premise is a real cherry on top.

17th-century witch Thorn Scarhart finds herself accidentally thrust into the future with a potion gone awry. Though the future is certainly more than Thorn bargained for, there’s plenty to enjoy about modern times, including online dating. She resumes her search for romance, now in the modern era, in this cozy fantasy.
