Surprisingly, players will gain access to a mount within just a few quest steps after entering Wishblossom ranch in the new Disney Dreamlight Valley DLC. Horse care is one of the biggest elements of the new expansion, with a combination of popular characters and personally selected mount options available to choose between.
Accessing a mount will require the Disney Dreamlight Valley: Wishblossom Ranch DLC, which can be purchased for any version of the game. Once purchased, players will need to start the DLC, and take the train to the new location. This is where horses will become available.
How to Unlock Horses in Wishblossom Ranch
To unlock horses in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players must speak with Snow White, give her the ticket for the Ranch, and then follow the pathway to the right. Inside a cave, a Wishblossom plant will be waiting.
By interacting with the plant, players will be gifted their first horse, which will offer eight preset mount options that can be edited to fit player aesthetics.
How to Customize Your First Horse
The customization options will become available as soon as a preset horse is selected. From here, players can customize the eyes, mane, tail, coat, and hooves of their horse.
Colors and styles are expansive, from natural options to fantastical pinks and purples. Players will also be prompted to name their horse once customization is complete.
After naming the horse, players will be able to mount and ride it immediately. A short tutorial will explain the basics of the new mechanic, which include feeding, brushing, petting, and riding. Like other animal companions, horses have favorite snacks that can be offered to improve their bond with the player.
After unlocking their horse, players will need to get back to Snow White and continue on their mission to revive the derelict ranch in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
