If finding a new productivity goal was one of your New Year’s resolutions and you don’t know about Spirit City: Lofi Sessions yet, allow me to introduce you. This gamified productivity app lets you create an avatar and a cozy space, then co-work with your virtual pal with ambient sounds and lofi in the backgrouond.
Since its release last year, Spirit City has offered a handful of free updates with new, seasonal content. With the Lunar New Year arriving this week, Mooncube has another free update in store. They’ve shared a number of sneak peeks over the last week, and we’re excited to see the new items in action this week!
Lunar New Year-Themed Spirit City: Lofi Sessions Update Brings New Avatar Items and More
While the Spirit City devs haven’t yet shared the exact update release date, the Lunar New Year update is set to arrive some time this week. The actual date for Lunar Near is January 29, so my bet is they’re planning to give us the goods on or around that date. At any rate, new items are always a welcome addition.
In the leadup to the free update, we’ve gotten plenty of exciting sneak peeks via social media. The new additions, will include lanterns, avatar outfits and hairstyles, and an adorable new snake plushie to usher in the Year of the Snake.
Yes, I initially thought the plushie was a new spirit to collect, and yes, I’ll be adding it to my virtual room immediately.
I don’t know about you, but my virtual space in Spirit City: Lofi Sessions is ready for its post winter holiday refresh. These beautiful new lanterns will be a great start at a vibrant new Lunar New Year look.
For those more interested in giving their in-game avatar a new look, here’s a look at the hairstyles shared by the Spirit City team. Players have been asking for more hairstyle options, particularly short hairstyles, and these three will deliver some more styles for players to choose from.
The Lunar New Year update will be the first Spirit City update of 2025. After setting the trend of new seasonal updates, I’m curious to see what other holidays we might get to celebrate in-game. This St. Patrick’s Day birthday girl would love a little green in March, for instance. With a new DLC on the way in 2025 already, there will surely be more fun Spirit City news to share soon.
