We love a good indie game here at Bonus Action, and we’re always on the lookout for more cool projects. Recently, the Celtic-inspired RPG Forge of the Fae caught our eyes, and we know we’re not alone.
This exciting pixel-art RPG brings together fae magic, steampunk, and Cletic-inspired lore. It launched on Kickstarter and was immediately fully funded in a single day.
Forge of the Fae Aims to Honor the Classics While Making Something New
Clearly, something about the pitch for Forge of the Fae is resonating with Kickstarter users. And what a pitch it is! The landing page is chock full of information about this upcoming indie game, from character bios to soundtrack clips, gameplay sneak peeks, and more.
According to their Kickstarter page, the game is “a love letter to the classics of the 16-bit era” while also aiming to be “a bold step forward.” Even the soundtrack blends together classic RPG soundtrack sounds with Celtic-inspired music, making this game something new and different.
It’s clear a lot of thought has gone into the world of this game already, with its Celtic-themed lore and Ireland-inspired environment. The game also includes a day and night cycle, with greater risk of Fae interference when the sun goes down – And don’t count out the weather, either!
Also, as BA’s resident dog mom, I appreciate that the developers specified you can, in fact, pet the dog. This is the kind of important information gamers need to know before throwing our hard earned coins into backing a game.
While some projects launch Kickstarters with an idea and a dream, there’s already a playable demo of Forge of the Fae. You can check it out now on Steam.
The Kickstarter campaign to help fully bring this game to life runs through October 23, so there’s still time to pledge and recieve campaign rewards if you want to be a part of making it happen.
