Honestly, there’s no adjective quite fitting for the enigmatic puzzles you’ll face, courtesy of Lorelei and her Laser Eyes. But hey, armed with just a key to a car without fuel and a tampon, we venture into this enigma-filled mansion.

The thought process involved in solving puzzles is the same across all Lorelei and the Laser Eyes’ puzzles. That said, some numbers and letters in the puzzles are randomized. This means my solution might not be the same as yours. In this guide, I’ll share how you can solve a puzzle and give you my solution. Don’t blindly take my solution without looking at the thought process behind it. It could literally kill you. In the game, of course.

What are Document Tubes

When you open a document tube, you get a map of an area of the Hotel. I figured this out so late into the game, I already knew the Hotel by heart, but I’m sure this resource can be a game-changer if exploited early on.

How to Open Document Tubes

Each document tube is associated with an architect from the hotel. To get the three-digit code that opens a document tube, you need to solve the puzzle linked to the architect’s name.

Disclaimer
The architect names are allocated randomly in each playthrough. So, the puzzle associated with Trediev Wojnik in your playthrough might be associated with Loffe T Vindén in mine. However, the puzzles and their solutions remain the same.

After exploring the hotel for a bit, head back to the main entrance room to find a man standing there. When you speak with him, he vaguely states that you can find your key at the reception. Don’t thank him for his hospitality yet; the key’s locked behind a puzzle.

How to Unlock all Film Poster Padlock Doors in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes

Once you enter room 2014, and get over the shock of finding out there already is a guest staying in your room, enter the room to the left to find a bunch of Videocassette boxes. These boxes are empty, but if you check out the posters, they give you information on the year in which each film was released. You also get the Ace of Hearts.

With this information, you can open the film poster doors scattered all over the Hotel in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes.

Disclaimer
Posters are placed randomly each time you play. In my game, I might find “Canzone Dell’Oceano” in the padlock east of the Foyer, but you might find “Adieu Tbilisi” there. However, the way you solve each padlock puzzle is always the same, even if the posters are different. The letters inside each room are also randomly assigned. So, unfortunately, the safe solutions won’t be the same for both of us. You’ll need to check the Safe Solution column and the Letter Puzzle section to see which solution works for you.

With Computer Discs, you can travel to the past, before you had even arrived at the Hotel. To read the Computer Discs, interact with a regular computer and select the option Load file from Disc.

How to Open the Backyard Keypad in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes

Watch out! The sequence might be different for you. Look at the poster with the numbers.

To open the backyard keypad in the exhibition room, interact with the painting to reveal the year “MDCCCXLVII“, which is 1847 in Roman letters. While the keypad doesn’t really have numbers, use the numbers in the painting on the wall to guide you.

How to Repair the Broken Key in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes

To repair the broken key found in the woman’s body, put the pieces together to form the year 1847. This may be a bit hard to figure out since the angle isn’t super flattering. The picture above shows in which order you should place each key piece to get the Dead Woman’s Key in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes.

This key opens the door to room 1847 on the second floor. Here, you can find a bunch of blocks and the entrance to the maze.

How to Get to the Center of the Maze

The picture above shows how you can get to the center of the Maze in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes. That said, before you venture to the center, pick up every Slate scattered across the maze. Each time you pick up one, the maze shatters, which complicates traversal a bit. Push on until you get to the center. When you do, speak to the woman outside to exit. Don’t worry, your progress and current location are saved.

Once you’ve got all the Greek alphabet codes, head back to the maze and interact with the centerpiece. You may have a different set of Greek letters here, but the solution is the same: Enter the code that matches the Greek letter to progress.

Then, place all the Maze Slabs to piece the Maze together. If you can’t recall, just open the Maze Design document and let it guide you.

The puzzle continues underground, but you can’t quite complete it yet, so I’d recommend you put this maze on hold until you have both magenta eyeballs. Trust me, it’ll make sense later.

Horses don’t actually have numbers. On the horses’ foreheads, you’re meant to place any coin you got from the toy block puzzles in the church. You can place any coin in any horse and find them in different orders.

How to Open the Exhibition Room Door

Disclaimer
The letters in the exhibition room are arranged randomly. Because they determine how to open the keypad, don’t just copy the solution above. Instead, take my process as an example of how to find your solution.

To open the exhibition room door look at the head statue with the boxes grid. The five boxes contain the letters R, Z, E, N, and O. These spell “Renzo,” a name you’ll spot around the hotel.

  1. Move to the door to the right of the statue. It’s locked, but there’s a keypad nearby with nine buttons.
  2. Press the buttons with the letters to spell “Renzo” in the correct order. If done right, the door will open.
  3. Inside, there are nine different puzzle boxes, each with its own pattern. Match the pattern to one of the numbered rooms in the hotel. Note that rooms 2014, 1847, and 2014 aren’t part of this puzzle.

How to solve all nine puzzle boxes in the exhibition room

To solve these boxes, you have to find and open nine rooms with years on the door. Inside these rooms lie a puzzle with numbers and cameras. When solved, record the answers and take them back to this room to open the puzzle boxes.

Inside the puzzle boxes lies a document. From this document, you need to extract a meaningful word that resonates with the old woman in room 2014. Say the word in the last column to her to get a vision.

Bet you hate seeing these. So… yeah, my puzzle box answers aren’t the same as yours. However, room numbers, room puzzles, and the puzzle box shapes that correspond to each room are the same in every playthrough. So, while I can’t give you the solution, I can tell you how to find your solution.

1. Point the camera at one of the shape pedestals in the room.
2. Switch back to standard view.
3. If you see a number, the shape in the camera’s sights matches the number displayed.
4. Repeat this process until you identify all four shapes for 1932.

The film camera lets you zoom in and out. Zoom in to match the size of the numbers 1, 9, 3, and 8 with the frame. Then, find the painting that fits perfectly in the white square at this size.

1. Use the film camera to zoom in on the “1” sculpture, fitting it perfectly inside the camera’s viewfinder.
2. Scan the walls to find a painting that also fits perfectly in the viewfinder.
3. Record the position of that painting.
4. Repeat this process for the 9, 3, and 8 sculptures.

The only numbers you need to focus on are 1, 9, 4, and 8.

1. Insert the reels for 1, 9, 4, and 8 into the projector.
2. Track the spinning direction of each reel.

  • You can find the padlock with the magenta woman drawing on the second floor.

How to Solve the Orangerie Puzzle

To open the Orangerie door, you have to connect the dots in the keypad to form the numbers 1, 8, 4, and 7. These are drawn in the backyard, right outside the Orangerie.

This puzzle is easy to put together, but hard to get right (especially that eight!). In the gallery above, you can find a picture that outlines how to connect the dots to open the door.

What to do with the Mannequins in the Revolver room

Inside the Revolver room lie Lorenzo and Renate’s mannequins. Rotate their heads to match the directions you saw in the videocassettes to get two notes with dates.

  • The Note found in the male mannequin gives you a hint to solve part of the Astronomical Clock puzzle.

How to Solve the Moon Book puzzle in the Library

WARNING
If you’re in the early stages of the game, go away. I’ll see you in the late game.

In the Note found in the female mannequin, you get a set of five dates. These are randomized in each playthrough, so check for the ones you’ve got.

In the tent with the Crystal Ball, which you unlocked in the backyard, you discovered a book named Lunar Phases of 1987. Use this book to determine the lunar phases that were in the sky on the dates mentioned in the earlier document. Then, recreate these lunar phases in the Moon Book in the library.

This gives you a book called Someone’s Journal. Take note of the order in which the pages have been arranged; you’ll need them in a bit.

Astronomical Clock Puzzle Solution

In the Note found in the male mannequin, you get a set of four dates. These are —wait for it— randomized in each playthrough.

Use the book The Zodiac: Who Are We? to match each date to a sign.

To solve the Astronomical Clock puzzle, you must move the clock hands to point to each sign in the order they’re shown in the document.

When you press the circle at the center, a drawer opens, and the second part of the puzzle begins.

Remember the sequence of days you got from Someone’s Journal? Match the days with the symbols in the art exhibition room on the second floor. This is the room that has a bunch of magenta symbols. To know what each symbol means, read the book Seven Moving Astronomical Objects.

Once you put the sequence of symbols in this cylindrical device, you get the Triquetra Key.

How to Solve the Catacombs Puzzle in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes

How to enter the Catacombs

To find the catacombs’ entrance, head outside the Hotel and walk toward your car. Instead of taking a left to visit Lorenzo’s caravan, keep walking past it until the path branches to the right. As you stand in front of this cemetery, you’re faced with your first puzzle.

The solution to enter Catacombs is in the door behind the three graves. You must insert the Triquetra Key in the order this plaque denotes.

  • “Youngest to pass:” 1924 to 1963.
  • “One who met fate after forty years:” 1807 to 1847.
  • “She who lived in two centuries:” 1932 to 2014.

Now that you know who is who, insert the Triquetra key in the order given to you. For me, it was:

  1. 1932 to 2014 grave
  2. 1924 to 1963 grave
  3. 1807 to 1847 grave
  4. 1807 to 1847 grave
  5. 1932 to 2014 grave
  6. 1924 to 1963 grave

Once you’ve inserted the Triquetra key in the graves following the correct sequence, the door to the Catacombs unlocks.

DISCLAIMER
The maze pieces on the floor differ from playthrough to playthrough. I hate these puzzles. Just thought you should know.

Catacombs Row 1

To solve the puzzle in the first row of the Catacombs, find the maze piece on the floor, match it to a piece from the Maze Design document, and press the corresponding square on the wall panel.

If the maze fragment on the wall is the southwest corner of the maze, then you must press the lower left square on the panel. Then, repeat this process with the panel on the right and on the left.

If your answers are correct, the gate opens.

Catacombs Row 2

To solve the puzzle in the second row of the Catacombs, match the location of the magenta dot on the Maze Design document to the panel on the wall.

This one took me forever because the wall panel design doesn’t match the Maze Design. If you’re sure you have the right maze fragment but nothing happens, try adding or subtracting one space.

It might feel like cheating, but taking a picture of the Maze Design document with your phone and having it open while you solve the panel can be really helpful.

Catacombs Row 3

To solve the puzzle third row of the Catacombs, you must rotate and flip the year in the stone panel to align the maze fragment on the floor.

The maze fragment on the floor exists but in a different position. You might need to rotate it to the right to match the actual maze fragment on the Maze Design document. Or you might need to rotate it 180 degrees and flip it upside down. Use the left and right arrows to rotate it, and the up and down arrows to flip it.

When you get the answer right, the last gate opens and you get access to The Left Eye.

How to Get all Script Pages in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes

This may be the only puzzle that comes to you in the entire game. After you unlock the backyard maze, your life is in danger. Every few minutes, your gameplay gets interrupted by the mazehead man who pulls you in for an interrogation. Get the question right, and you get a script page. If you get it wrong, however, you die and it’s game over. This is why you should save often.

Once you’ve got all nine scripts, slide them under door 1963. The man will then unlock the door, where you’ll find a ton of pages on the floor and a skeleton with The Right Eye.

What to do With The Right and Left Eye in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes

Bring both eyes to the stone minotaur in the maze in the backyard. Insert each eye in the statues in the underground Maze.

Once you’ve inserted each eye, the stone minotaur rises from the ground, revealing another code:

With this code, you can solve the last question in the Quiz Club maze.

These four three-digit codes are actually four Greek letters. Consult your bug reports again to find out which corresponds to your answer. For me, it was ΣΠΓΞ.

How to Solve the Supercomputer Puzzle in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes

Before solving the Supercomputer puzzle, make sure you’re done with all Computer Disc memories, all Puzzle Box visions, and both Mazes up to the point in which you unlock the Mirror.

Username

To uncover the username for the Supercomputer, put together the Runes from Lorenzo’s Posters and the Memories from the Computer Discs to spell out the name LORELEI.

First, convert Letters Into Runes

Then, write LORELEI Using the Runes

Enter the runes in that order to get the Username right in the Supercomputer puzzle.

Password

To learn the Supercomputer’s password, reach the center of the Quiz Club Maze, answer the Minotaur’s question, and go through the mirror. Once you’re on the other side, visit the Exhibition room on the second floor.

This is three rooms, not one. Each room has puzzles that reveal the three symbols of the Supercomputer’s password.

TL; DR: When you step on the black squares on the ground, you might see yourself on the magenta and white squares on the wall. If you show up on a square on the wall, that square is part of the symbol. If you don’t show up, that square isn’t part of the symbol.

Here’s how I solved it:

  1. Draw a three-by-three grid on paper.
  2. Position your character in each black square on the ground.
  3. If your character appears in a red or white square on the wall, mark that spot on the paper.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all squares to complete the symbol.
  5. When ready, head to the next room and start working on the second and third symbols.
  6. To know the right order for the symbols, read the signs in each room.

Once you know the three symbols and their order, enter them on the Supercomputer’s second keyboard to get the Password right.

Memory Sequence

To get the Memory Sequence for the Supercomputer, you must analyze the Visions uttered by the old lady in room 2014. These visions follow a logic that represents one of the three years: 1847, 1963, and 2014.

Follow the chronological order of the visions in your playthrough.
