According to a new rumor, there might be a LEGO PlayStation set coming this winter. While Nintendo has gotten the lion’s share of LEGO gaming sets in recent memory thanks to its Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and Pokémon line-ups, other franchises like Sonic the Hedgehog have been represented in plastic building form over the years as well.

There have even been a few LEGO sets modeled after gaming consoles such as the Atari 2600, Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo Game Boy, and a classic Pac-Man arcade cabinet. These sets faithfully recreate the old systems that gamers grew up playing while including fun extras like LEGO game cartridges or a buildable TV set that simulates a colorful round of the original Super Mario Bros.

LEGO PlayStation Console Set Could Be Coming This December

According to a new inside tip from Instagram user Lego Minecraft Goat, we could be getting a LEGO model of the original Sony PlayStation at some point in December 2026. This set will reportedly cost around $159.99/€159.99 and feature 1911 pieces.

These LEGO pieces would be used to build a replica of the classic grey PS1 system and at least one controller (whether that means the original, joystick-less gamepad or the later DualShock controller isn’t clear, even if the picture Lego Minecraft Goat uses in their post shows the former). There is no word on any other accessories in this supposed LEGO PlayStation set, like a memory card or even a buildable PlayStation game disk.

While PlayStation hasn’t gotten nearly as many LEGO products as Nintendo, there have been a couple of sets based on the futuristic Horizon series. The first was a towering, collector’s edition Tallneck model that came packed with an Aloy minifigure, while the second was a more affordable family set based on 2024’s LEGO Horizon Adventures spin-off game.

It should be pointed out that nothing official has been confirmed by either LEGO or Sony regarding a possible PlayStation console set, so fans should stay skeptical until more concrete details emerge. However, if these rumors are true, LEGO collectors with fond memories playing classic titles like Crash Bandicoot and Final Fantasy VII on the original Sony PlayStation might be in for a treat this holiday season.
