Some new information about Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has leaked online, just a few short days before Thursday’s PlayStation State of Play. Marvel has always had a rich history with fighting games (Marvel Vs. Capcom, anyone?), and BlazeBlue and Dragon Ball Fighter Z developer Arc System Works announced its own superhero brawling extravaganza last June.
Since then, new details about Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls‘ gameplay, roster, and visual style have been unveiled in the run-up to its planned 2026 release. Currently in development for PlayStation and Windows, Marvel Tokon blends Arc System Works’ signature cel-shaded anime style with a mix of Marvel’s most popular heroes and villains engaging in fast-paced 4v4 tag-team combat.
New Marvel Tokon Details Leak, Promising 20 Characters And Single-Player Content
Earlier this week, VGC reported that even more information about Marvel Tokon was supposedly leaked on the game’s Steam page. These new details have since been removed, but have been archived on the Resetra forums. According to the page, Marvel Tokon will feature 20 playable characters at launch, and some stages could have “interactive transitions” similar to DC’s Injustice: Gods Among Us.
Additionally, the Steam page listing mentions “immersive and intuitive fighting” with unique move sets, combos, and strategies for each character. Players will be able to customize their experience with adjustable controls, while easy chain combos could make things simpler for newcomers to the fighting genre.
Lastly, Marvel Tokon will supposedly support up to 64 players in online lobbies, while fans who prefer to play alone will be able to dive into the single-player Episode Mode, which explores each playable team’s lore and character dynamics.
This information was probably meant to be unveiled during this week’s PlayStation State of Play, only for Steam to accidentally update its page early. If this is the case, we might get more concrete confirmation about Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls‘ roster size and online multiplayer options on Thursday.
There might also be a few new Marvel Tokon characters shown off at the event. So far, the game’s confirmed playable roster consists of Captain America/Steve Rogers, Doctor Doom, Ghost Rider/Robbie Reyes, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan, Spider-Man/Peter Parker, Star-Lord, and Storm. C’mon, guys, give us Daredevil already!
