In Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island, players step into the role of Alex, a young woman who winds up shipwrecked on a mysterious island. As she meets its inhabitants, she soon realizes that her quest to return home must take a backseat to figure out the strange happenings on this island.

Few games have a format that is as user-friendly as Mythwrecked, and between the tutorial and helpful hints from the island oracle, players will find it a truly cozy experience. Even so, there are a few tips and tricks beyond what the developers offer, which is where our full walkthrough of Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island comes in.

In our walkthrough, we’ll cover where your can find mementos to increase you friendship with the island’s inhabitants and when you’ll learn what to do with the mysterious things you’ll discover during your explorations. Plus, a few tips and tricks we picked up along the way!

Basic Gameplay Overview

Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island has a cozy gameplay loop where you explore Ambrosia Island, meeting various Greek Gods and helping them to restore their memories.

As Alex, you will solve puzzles to uncover new areas of Ambrosia Island, meet new islanders, and develop your friendship with them. Each of the islanders has a request that will send you around the island, locating and interacting with various objects to help them remember who they were before the strange forgetting.

There is no combat and no fast-paced maneuvering in Mythwrecked, making it an easygoing game that you can take at your own pace. It’s mostly about exploring and solving simple puzzles while uncovering the game’s story.

What Platforms is Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island Available On?

Good news, cozy gamers – Mythwrecked is available on PC and across various consoles. You can grab the game for the following systems as of December 5, 2024:

Mythwrecked is also coming to PlayStation consoles sometime in 2025. We don’t have an exact release date just yet, but it is confirmed.

How Long is Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island?

This game has a sandbox-style feel and encourages you to slow down and enjoy the island’s many sights. Players can easily take their time, but for me, it took around 10 hours to beat the game and complete the story.

How to Save Your Game

If you’re like me, you will immediately begin panicking about how to save your game upon starting Mythwrecked. You will need to play a little ways into the game before saving becomes available. Alex needs to sleep for the night for the first day, which you’ll do by finding the lighthouse.

Once you reach this point in the game, you can save at any time from the benches around the island. This is also where you can pass time to unlock certain events that only take place during the day or at night.

Does Mythwrecked Have Fast Travel?

Ambrosia Island is pretty big, and players may want to get around more quickly at times.

Thankfully, you can unlock fast travel by swapping Ambrosia Fruit with Hermes once you reach Friendship Level 1. His keys open portal doors all over the island, which all lead you back to just outside the lighthouse.

What Am I Supposed to Do With The Items on Ambrosia Island?

As you explore Ambrosia Island, you will come across many strange features that you may not immediately be able to interact with aside from Alex’s puzzled reflections. If you’re like me, you will start wondering if you need to track where you’ve been seeing those strange locked doors, seagulls, and sand-covered murals.

Not to worry – these will all be explained in due time as you meet the island’s inhabitants. Each of the strange, broken, or mysterious items you encounter on Ambrosia Island will eventually be linked to favours from each of the Greek Gods and Goddesses you meet. So, if you can’t yet refill the fountains or read those pillars, you’ve likely just not met the corresponding Greek Gods just yet.

All Favours for the Gods in Mythwrecked

Each island inhabitant has favours and mementos that you’ll collect to increase your friendship and solve the mystery. These favours have three rounds each, meaning you won’t be able to feed all the seagulls or uncover all the murals in one go. Each of your new friends needs to recharge before they can make more seagull snacks or grant energy to magic lightning bolts or hammers.

Once you’ve met each Islander, they’ll mark their request on your map. So, it’s pretty easy to keep track of them as you go – but that doesn’t mean you won’t be wondering about the island’s different features as you see them. So, to satisfy your curiosity, we’re breaking down each of these mysterious items and which character will unlock their true purpose – and mark the locations on your Ambrosidex map.

How to Feed the Seagulls – Hermes’ Favour

As you explore Ambrosia Island, you’ll encounter cute little seagulls hanging out in various places. If you interact with them early in the game, Alex makes a comment about wishing she could feed them.

Feeding seagulls is a friendship request from Hermes. Once you meet this character, he will give you various foods to feed the seagulls as part of leveling up your friendship. He will also mark them on your Ambrosiadex map.

You can only feed seagulls when you have one of these items from Hermes and will periodically run out, needing to level up friendship before you can get more seagull snacks.

What to Do With Lightning Tablets – Hera & Zeus’ Favour

You will see stone tablets with a lightning bolt symbol around Ambrosia Island. These are a friendship request from Hera and Zeus. When you meet these characters, you will gain an item to help you reactivate these old tablets.

Upon speaking with them for the first time, Zeus and Hera will mark the locations of all tablets on your Ambrosiadex map. Like feeding the seagulls, you will periodically need to wait and level up your friendship with this duo before you’ll be able to charge more tablets.

How to Uncover the Murals -Aphrodite’s Favour

Curious about those sand and moss-covered murals around Ambrosia Island? Rest assured that like most strange encounters, you will eventually gain the tools to interact with the murals.

Uncovering murals is part of Aphrodite’s friendship requests. She will give you a device to help clear off murals and mark their locations on your Ambrosiadex map when you speak with her in her garden for the first time.

What to Do With Amazon Statues – Ares’ Favour

Those Amazon statues around Ambrosia Island are missing their weapons! As the battle-readiness might suggest, these fixtures are part of the friendship request for Ares, the Greek God of War.

When you meet him, he’ll mark the locations on the map and help you get the first few weapons to return to the appropriate statues. Unlike many other islanders, he won’t hand you one item to fix the problem – instead, you’ll gather the weapons from around his garden, and then match them to the appropriate statues. As you level up your friendship with Ares, more weapons will become available.

How to Fix Broken Windmills – Hephaestus’ Favour

Broken windmills dot Ambrosia Island, and of course, it will eventually be up to Alex to fix them. These play into your friendship requests for Hephaestus, the smithing god.

Once you meet him, he will give you a special hammer to repair the windmills and mark them on your map.

How to Read the Strange Pillars – Athena’s Favour

The pillars around the island with different gemstones fixed atop them will be inscrutable to Alex at first. You can only read them with special lenses as part of Athena’s friendship request. They won’t be willing to talk to you for a while, as they’re holed up in the library that’s blocked by owl sentries.

Once you obtain and place your first Soulstone (more on that later), you’ll be able to enter the library, meet Athena, and begin reading the inscribed pillars. Each contains a myth about the gods, giving you plenty of fun reading in your Ambrosidex library.

How to Refill the Fountains – Poseidon’s Favour

If you haven’t guessed, the empty fountains will be restored to their full glory by none other than the Greek god of the sea, Poseidon. He is squared away on the Flotsam Beach, behind a sealed door.

You’ll meet him later on in the game once you’ve collected seals from the other islanders. Refilling the fountains is Poseidon’s friendship favour.

What’s Up with the Ghosts? – Hades’ Favour

Listen, these little ghosts drove me crazy for a while. If you talk to them, they just run away. What are they for?! Of course, I should’ve realized – guiding the souls of the dead back to the Underworld could be none other than the friendship request for Hades.

Hades’ door requires several seals, so you won’t meet him until late in the game. Once you do, he’ll give you what you need to begin guiding those cute little ghosts back home.

How to Get Past the Library Bridge Sentries in Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island

Near Zeus & Hera’s home at the Cloud Atrium, players will find a mysterious bridge blocked by owl-shaped sentries. If you try to cross the bridge, Alex jumps back and says she needs to find a way to disable them.

This gets increasingly frustrating once you start seeing radar pings over there, but rest assured – you don’t need to do anything but keep working on building your friendships with other islanders. Eventually, you will acquire your first Soulstone by reaching Level 3 friendship. At this point, the Islander who lives in the library tower will disable the sentinels and you’ll get a message to come meet them.

How to Get Across the Water at Dock Points in Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island

There are various strange docks at the water’s edge on Ambrosia Island, with three lines on them. For a long time in early gameplay, Alex will only muse about what they could be for.

To unlock the purpose behind these strange docks, players need to meet Poseidon. He will gift you an item called the Mini Trident, which lets you find things previously hidden away across the water.

All Islander Locations & How to Find Them

Meeting all the islanders is one of Alex’s first quests in the Ambrosiadex log, and players will want to track them all down. Here’s where each Greek God resides and when you’ll be able to meet them.

Some characters will be locked away behind doors that are sealed – you will get emblems from your new friends that will help you unlock each door and gain access to more of The Others.

All Mementos & Where to Find Them

The biggest way to increase your friendship and progress the plot in Mythwrcked: Ambrosia Island is finding mementos that belong to each of the Greek Gods you meet. While your Ambrosidex helps you hone in on the signal, you do need to get within range of each memento before your radar will start beeping.

Each islander has several sets of mementos to collect. You will reach a new friendship level by completing a set, along with the favours for that level. Once you achieve a new level of friendship, the next set of mementos will be available to track down.

When you find a memento, Ora is happy to help you figure out who it belongs to if you’re feeling stumped. However, getting close enough to memento locations to ping your radar is entirely up to you. You can see the general areas with radar pings from your Ambrosidex map but will need to hone in on where the signal is strongest.

If you’re stuck trying to find mementos for a specific friend on the island, our walkthrough is here to help. Here’s where we found every memento for the islanders.

Keep in mind, you won’t be able to find mementos in their given locations until you have the associated radar signal. Going to the spots in this guide before the right time won’t trigger the event to find the items. So, make sure you’ve completed each islanders first set before trying to find items from their second, and so on.

Hermes Mementos

As the first Islander you’ll meet, you will likely find all of Hermes’ mementos first. If you’re stumped, here’s where to find each item in his memento sets.

Once you reach Friendship Level 2 by completing Hermes’ favours and finding his first two mementos, you’ll get the signals for the next set.

Some of these mementos are buried, which means you won’t be able to find them until Hephaestus upgrades your Ambrosidex radar.

Once you return all three sets of mementos to Hermes, you will max out your friendship and earn his Soulstone. From here, you can continue to check in and trade for keys but will not be able to advance the friendship further.

Hera & Zeus Mementos

Though you’ll meet Zeus & Hera early on, their mementos will prove tricky to find, as they’re all hidden away in other islander’s homes. You can’t enter a god or goddess’ house until reaching Friendship Level 1. So, don’t worry if it takes some time to get to the source of those radar signals!

Fast travel will also be disabled at this point, so plan to spend a little time lingering over the game’s ending.
