Lost Records is far from a walking simulator with all those choices, puzzles, and memoirs you’re meant to complete during your playthrough.

Tape 1: Scenes 1-4
This part of the guide covers the scenes Expectations, Memory Lane, Swann Holloway 1995, and Welcome to Velvet Cove from Lost Records.
The first two scenes are set in 2022 and are pretty straightforward, but you might run into trouble finding some of Swann’s things in her room during Scene 3.
Dark Crystal videotape location
You can find the Dark Crystal’s case on top of the trunk under the window and right next to your cat.
The tape, on the other hand, is inside a white case you’ll spot on the right side of Swann’s bed, right by the bookshelf.
Grab the tape and bring it to the case on the trunk to return it.
Snack location
You can find a granola bar on top of Swann’s desk on the left side of the room. After you grab it, interact with Swann’s bag under the desk to pack it up.
Tape 1: Scenes 5-8
This part of the guide covers the scenes The Day We Met, The First Night, Autumn Lockheart 1995, and Reunion of Lost Records.
Should you film Dylan & Corey or not?
During your argument with Dylan and Corey, you have many chances to start filming them. Here’s what happens if you do or don’t.
Film Dylan & Corey
Don’t film them
If you agree to film Corey, he’ll keep making fun of Swann and you’ll be forced to record him until he tells you to stop, which is pretty much the time when Kat steps in to save you.
At least you get to fill up the Bullies memoir?
If you choose not to film Dylan & Corey, you’ll have to withstand their mean comments and incessant bullying. Swann will try to make excuses for herself, but saying she was trying to film a red balloon that suddenly isn’t there doesn’t help. Corey also gets pretty upset that Swann refuses to film him. In the end, Corey and Dylan start arguing amongst themselves and Corey blames it on you.
Eventually, Kat will step in and help her stand up for herself.
How to Retrieve Autumn’s keys
Follow these steps to find Autumn’s keys and retrieve them safely:

To find Nora’s pick, look for the Media Tower next to the TV. Here, open the case that reads “The Vortex Club.”
You can choose any pick you’d like, but Nora prefers the Tharpe pick.

Pretending to know Sinful doesn’t go well. Turns out, the name of the band is Girl’s Flu and you now just look like an idiot.
If Swann explains she’s more of a film nerd, here’s how everyone reacts:
Nora says, “Shut up!”
Kat says, “Hey, at least she didn’t lie.”
At the end of the day, being truthful is not that big of a deal and it doesn’t have a huge impact on relationships.
Should You Ask for a Real or Pretend Kiss in the Music Video?

If you ask Kat and Nora to share a real kiss, they will. Kat will feel a bit uncomfortable about the situation, but they’ll go through it.
If you choose to stage a pretend kiss, Nora will be upset, but Kat will be relieved.
In the end, Kat will give Nora a kiss on the cheek.

If you wait for Kat, you’ll get an extra conversation with her. She’ll appreciate you staying behind and open up a bit on how she felt about the kiss with Nora.
On the flipside, you’ll miss the chance to speak with Nora or Autumn.
If you choose to walk with Autumn or Nora, you’ll follow one of them up the mountain and share a conversation.
If you go up with Nora, you can ask her what she felt about the motorcycle skit. She’ll ask if you thought Kat felt weirded out by their scene.
We haven’t tried following Autumn yet, but we’ll keep you updated on what they talk about.
Tape 1: Scenes 13-16
This section of the guide covers the scenes Cabin in the Woods, Phone a Friend, This Old House, and Echoes of Summer of Lost Records.
How to Pull Off the Boards in the Window
After removing a wooden board on the side of the cabin, the girls find a sealed window. If they can manage to pull off the boards, they’ll be able to break in.
- Follow the road past the goat bottle opener until you find a bathroom.
- Take a look at the hook on the bathroom’s left side and ask Kat: “What’s that?”
This will prompt Swann to give Kat a boost so she can lower the hook. Then, Kat will use it to remove the boards.
How to Open the Padlock in the Abandoned Cabin
To open the padlock, read the note behind the door and look for the signs glowing in the cabin.
Here’s a step by step breakdown:

Where Are Your Cat Treats?
Cat treats can be found near the bedroom door, on the floor. Interact with them to feed your cat and have him move out of the trunk.
How to Find Tweezers for Kat
To help Kat, head inside the cabin and look for a blue bag: Autum’s first aid kit. Then, bring it to Kat – she’ll be relieved you helped her.

This section of the guide covers scenes Nora Malakian 1995, Bloom…, Packing Up, and Double Dare of Lost Records.

Should You Draw Blood During the Ritual?

If you decide to draw blood during the blood ritual, you, Kat and Nora will become blood sisters. All three of you will be part of the curse but Autumn will refuse.
As far as Bloom goes, there have been no clear consequences to this choice.
If you refuse to draw blood, Nora will look visibly disappointed.
As far as Bloom goes, it doesn’t look like this action has any major consequences, but the game does save it as a big choice.
How to Find the Tape to Pack
You’ll find the tape right next to Swann’s nightstand, on the floor. Use it to close up the box.
Should You say Bloody Mary Thirteen Times?

If you do the full Bloody Mary challenge, the candle will blow out and you’ll see some odd purple lights briefly. Nothing major seems to happen, but note that the game saves this as a major choice.
If you refuse to say Bloody Mary thirteen times, Swann will walk out of the bathroom and some of the girls will be visibly disappointed. That said, it doesn’t seem to have major consequences on any relationships or story progression so far.

Should you Break the Padlock? Padlock Combination
You can either break the padlock or call Kat’s sister to ask her for the combination. To get Dylan to cooperate, tell her there’s a lost cat behind the fence.
Alternatively, you can rummage through Corey’s bag in the back of his red motorcycle. Inspect the Pager and flip it to see the padlock combo.
The correct padlock combination is: Up, right, left, up, down.
How to Turn the Power Back On
To turn the power back on, open the Electrical Box behind the fence and look for an orange and green fuse nearby. Then, place them in the empty slots.
The next step is to fidget with the fuses until the switch turns green.
Should You or Kat take the Blame for Planning the Concert?

Take the blame
Kat won’t be upset if you let her take the blame. She’ll say it’s her dream to be here with you. While Dylan won’t go easy on you, she lashes out in Kat the most.
If you take the blame, Dylan will say “I knew you were a freak but I didn’t think you had this in you.” This clearly upsets Swann, and even though Kat says it was her idea, Dylan doesn’t seem to believe her. In the end, Dylan seems to hold a big grudge against you.

How to Pack
To pack the box in Swann’s room correctly, start by placing the largest items first. Here’s a step-by-step:

If you call Kat, Corey will pick up. Though he will be a major arsehole, he will eventually give you Kat’s hospital number, which is 285-555-0919.
Call this number and you’ll get to talk to Kat briefly before Dylan comes check on her. The hospital’s front desk will tell you that usually only family is allowed to talk to pediatric patients, but since Kat left a note about you, they’ll let you through.
If you call Autumn, she won’t be available at the time. But you can leave a message to check on her, which can earn you two hearts in their relationship. (Look, she’ll hear it eventually).
If you call Nora, her father will pick up the phone and say she’s grounded for a week. You can hear Nora protesting in the background, and if you say she’s your best friend, you’ll get an extra heart in your relationship. But alas, no talking.
If you don’t call anyone, nothing happens. There’ll be a few comments when you meet up with the girls about how you didn’t call, but since you’re all either grounded, traumatized, or at the hospital at this point of the story, nobody’ll hold it against you.
If you follow your mom’s rules, she won’t pick up the line from the other side to scold you.
Dylan’s interview
There are no hearts for Dylan, but with the right choices, you can help her move on from Corey. While talking to her outside the Blue Spruce, pick the option “Wanna vent about Corey?”

- If you disappeared, Kat would notice
- Are you sure Corey’s the one?
After the interview, pick the option “Dylan’s been waiting.” This way, she won’t kiss him when he comes to pick her up.
Tape 2: Scenes 4-8

You know your girl restarted from the last checkpoint at least eight times to get this scene right, so here’s every right answer to help Autumn feel better:

The handmade magazine to the red scissors’ left and the walkthrough for Momojing belong to Autumn.
You can tell the handmade zine about skating belongs to her by flipping it over. You’ll find a sketch of Autumn on a broomstick.
You can tell the walkthrough belongs to Autumn by checking the table she’s standing over; there’s another walkthrough there.
Which Tape Should You Show to Autumn
Either show Autumn Fawn’s Rest or Forest Girls. These tapes won’t remind her of sad or anxious feelings.

The code to open the gate to Kat’s house is 7093.
You can check this number by looking at your recordings and taking a second look at the number Kat showed you and Nora through the window.
How to Sneak Past Corey
To sneak past Corey, follow these steps:
- Tell Nora to hide behind the chair.
- Move the red wagon in front of you.
- Rush behind the bushes to the left until you get to Nora.
- Hide behind the shed.
- Ask Nora to knock down the bird feeder.
At this point, head behind the bushes in front of Kat’s house. This section is a bit tricky, but to avoid alerting Corey, you have to stick as close to the bushes as possible. The angle might make it seem like this section is fully 2D, but you can actually move closer to the bushes by pressing up. Do so, and advance only when Corey’s one step ahead of you.
Once you make it to the other side, grab the ladder to climb to Kat’s room.
Tape 2: Scenes 9-12

Should You Cut Kat’s Hair or Let Her Cut it Herself

If you choose to cut Kat’s hair, she’ll be glad. She’ll thank you and say she knew you’d be up for it. Swann, in turn, will thank her for trusting her.
After finding the scissors, you’ll watch a cutscene of Swann cutting Kat’s hair. It’s a really cute moment, especially if you’re trying to romance Kat.
If you tell Kat you’ll let her cut her own hair, she says “Uh yeah… that might work… thanks.” This line makes it sound like she’s a little disappointed, but the choice still leads to character growth.
After finding the mirror and the scissors, you’ll see a cutscene of Swann holding up a mirror, helping Kat cut her own hair.
How to Find the Scissors and Mirror
You can find the scissors on the white drawer on the left side of the door. You’ll just have to move a couple of homework papers from Kat to see them.
The mirror is inside the backpack next to the drawer. Just open the zipper and you’ll find it.

If you choose to stay with Kat, Swann holds her hand before Dylan and Corey step in. They will criticize her haircut, Corey calls her slurs and tears the Bikini Kills tickets apart, they find out she’s trying to sneak out.
Then, Corey grabs Swann’s camera and smashes it on the ground before grabbing her by the arm and taking her outside.
If you leave through the window, Swann apologizes as she sneaks out and stands outside Kat’s room.
Corey and Dylan barge into Kat’s room, criticize her haircut, Corey calls her slurs and tears the Bikini Kills tickets apart, they find out she’s trying to sneak out.
As Corey grabs Swann’s camera, Kat launches herself at him, and Se grabs her by the neck.
Based on your previous choices, Dylan will either step in and get dragged outside of the room by Corey or just stand by.
Tape 2: Scenes 13-16
Should You Tag or Smash The Ranch?

While this has no real repercussions as far as Bloom and Rage goes, Swann will break the windows of trucks, smash the windows of the ranch, and tear the decorations apart. The result is somewthing a bit bloodier than the tag alternative.
If you choose to tag the ranch, Swann will draw graffiti all over the trucks, windows, doors, and decoratins of the ranch. You can choose to either be obscene or playful in your approach, but it’s overall less destructive.
Should Swann or Kat Light The Deer on Fire?

While this has no real repercussions, Kat struggles to light the deer on fire and coughs all the way through it. You can tell this is important for her, but her health doesn’t seem to make things easy for her.
While this has no real repercussions, Swann will grab the lighter and easily throw it at the deer to light it on fire.
How to Open the Barn
To open the barn, follow these steps:

How to Get the Flare
- To find the flare, go through the passage to Kat’s right; you should see a bunch of open doors here.
- On the other side, look left to see a quad.
- Behind it, you’ll find the Flare.
- Bring it back to Kat to progress the story.
How to Get Out of Fawn’s Rest
To escape Corey, follow these steps:
- Look for some curtains next to Autumn’s skating poster and pull them open.
- Grab the hammer behind some crackers on top of the kitchen counter.
- Head back to the window from before and unbar it.
Should you Stop Kat or Attack Corey?
There are several outcomes here and few of them are actually determined by this choice. Instead, all your previous choices, plus this one, will determine what happens to Corey, the Abyss, and Kat.

If you decide to attack Corey, Swann will start punching Corey as well. Based on your previous choices with Nora and Autumn, they might join in as well.
In the end, they’ll push Corey into the Abyss.
If you tell Kat to stop, she will defend her choice to attack Corey. Eventually, Corey will stumble and fall into the Abyss, pulling Kat in with him.
If you do nothing, Dylan will step in and, based on your previous choices, defend Kat against Corey.
In the end, the Mikelsen sisters push Corey into the abyss.
